Grenadier

The Grenadier is a big and powerful long-range unit that deals area damage—rather inaccurately! Be careful about sending troops in front of him, as they might get caught in a grenade blast.

The Grenadier is unlocked at Headquarters level 16. His big moustache and the fact that he throws grenades makes him an impressive appearance at the battlefield. The Grenadier has the longest attack range of all available troops, even longer than the attack range of the Tank. The big inaccuracy of the Grenadier makes him miss its target for about 75% of the time. In most cases the buildings behind the target are hit. If used wisely this inaccuracy can be a strategical advantage.

Grenadier Offensive Strategy

• Use the Grenadier behind Tanks or Scorchers. His attack range is bigger than the attack range of the Tanks so he can do lots of damage while using the Tanks as a shield.
• Machine Guns, Flamethrowers and Cannon all have a smaller attack range compared to the attack range of the Grenadier. He can demolish these defensive buildings without being attacked.
• If your opponent has lots of non-defensive buildings (Vault, Sculptor, storages etc) placed in front of the defensive buildings as a buffer, then it may be an option to deploy the Grenadiers before you deploy any other Troops. When the Grenadier is targeting these non-defensive buildings, the buildings behind these will be hit more often due to his inaccuracy. This will deal some chaotic damage before your other Troops arrive.
